How does it work?

Patient Connector directly connects patients with surgeons and makes the referral process more efficient for general practitioners. Patients can access upfront information about the fees, waitlist and location of surgeons, so they can make more informed decisions about their healthcare. It also provides surgeons with direct access to patients in need of their specialist medical care, so they can proactively grow their private practice.

1. Make a free request for information to surgeons

Make a free request, outlining your medical condition and need. You need to also upload your GP referral and any medical scans or results. All your information is kept confidential and secure in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not share your data with any third parties.

2. Receive responses from surgeons who meet your needs

Surgeons who meet your needs are notified and provide a free quote. They outline:
• when they can see you and perform an operation if required
• where they can see you
• how much it will cost.
Importantly, only you can view this information that the doctor provides - it is not publicly available.

3. Choose your preferred surgeon

Review the surgeons' information and choose your preferred surgeon. Your contact details will then be sent to the surgeon and their practice manager, and your will also receive the practice manager's contact details.

There is no cost to you to use the platform - it is free for patients!

All surgeons on our platform are verified by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Want more information about the cost to have surgery?

Unfortunately there is no easy answer to how much having surgery will cost you. This is because some costs may be covered by Medicare, some costs may be covered by private health insurance (depending on your level of cover and their policy) and some doctors may charge an out-of-pocket cost.
